Concerns
Ingrown hairs: you're not doing it wrong. The method is.
The bumps along the bikini line. The irritation after every shave. The dark marks that outlast the hair itself. If you've tried every exfoliant and every "proper technique" guide and the ingrowns still come back — that's because the problem isn't your routine.
Why shaving and waxing cause ingrowns by design
Every time hair is cut or ripped at the surface, it has to regrow through the skin — and any hair that curls, which is most hair in the bikini area and underarms, can turn back into the skin instead of growing out of it. The result is an inflamed bump, sometimes infection, and often a dark mark that lingers for months.
Exfoliating helps at the margins. But as long as hair keeps regrowing, the lottery keeps running. You can't out-scrub a structural problem.
The way out: stop the regrowth, stop the ingrowns
Laser hair removal addresses ingrowns at the source: the follicle. Across a course of six sessions, treated follicles stop producing hair — and hair that doesn't regrow can't grow inward. Many clients notice the cycle easing within the first few sessions, as regrowth becomes finer and sparser. Results vary from person to person.
It's also one of the most common reasons clients with darker or curlier hair come to us — the same hair structure that makes ingrowns worse makes laser more effective, because the laser targets pigment.
